Girls U12
This U12 A team were the very same U10s who narrowly missed out on this trophy 2 years ago by 1 goal in a nail biting penalty flick showdown against Horsham. This time, there was no need for the flicks as the girls won every single game without letting in a single goal to win the trophy hands down. What a performance. What a team!
The U12 B team performed extremely well under pressure from some very strong opposition. Drawing 1 and losing 3, the last of which was to an ultra competitive East Grinstead side. Great future potential from all the girls involved and top team play from all those who volunteered to take a turn in goal.
Girls U10
The Girls fought bravely against some accomplished competition. The highlight of which was a 2-0 win over Brighton in their last match. Testament to their improved matchplay as the tournament progressed. Mabel Pickard was top goal scorer with 2 and Scarlett Kinrade got one. The performances of Katie Bradley and Isobel Harding are worthy of note as these two girls played especially well.

Lewes 1 v 0 Hailsham (Jack Jones)
Lewes 1 v 1 East Grinstead (Jack Jones)
Lewes 0 v 2 Eastbourne
Lewes 2 v 0 Horsham (Alex Rus, Jack Jones)
Lewes 1 v 0 Brighton (Dirren Quinn)
The Lewes boys U10s showed great character this weekend coming an impressive third in the annual Ron Easton Tournament. After a solid nil nil draw with Mid Sussex epitomised by Barnaby Heinzl’s resolute tacking, Jack Jones showed great skill to score the only goal in a one nil victory over Hailsham. Next up were eventual winners, East Grinstead, where excellent tackling from Finley Webster helped the boys in a green to a respectable one all draw. Superb goal keeping from Bertie Collison then kept the loss to Eastbourne to a credible two nil deficit before the performance of the day against Horsham. A goal a-piece from Alex Rus and Jones combined with great efforts from Aiden Fitzpatrick and Kian Milne saw Lewes secure a two nil victory. Last up were Brighton where Jayden Dyckson’s work ethic and a well taken goal from Dirren Quinn saw Lewes secure a third victory of the afternoon.
Boys U12
The boys put up their best ever performance in competitive hockey on Sunday. Pool games saw them with wins against Mid Sussex and Horsham. Goals came from Alex Thornett and a simply stunning reverse stick shot from the top of the 'D' giving Oli Loader 'goal of the tournament' and securing the side a 2nd place finish in their pool. An overall 4th out of 10 Sussex teams is a credit to their passing game and the solid goal keeping from Billy Palmer. A creditable performance and continuing the teams progression of ever improving hockey.
