The Cubs have not won a game all season but today they dominated from the start with only a brief spell in the second half when Crawley pushed for an equaliser. The winning goal was scored in the first half by Ben Battle and he was duly presented with the match ball at the end.
The Cubs played some great hockey, spreading the ball out wide, one twos all over the park and solid defence as usual. The boys are really starting to grow in stature and belief - what a crop of players for the Lewes future.
It would be unfair to name a few when the whole squad were brilliant, but the club should know that this squad playing in the Sussex Development league are mostly 12 and 11 years old and a couple younger. Wow, the coaching team were very proud.
