Lewes 2s suffered a poor result in the Men's 2s National Cup against a rampant Eastbourne as tired minds and legs proved costly.
Lewes started brightly and were the better team in the first 10 minutes with Oli Tapping's powerful strike giving him 2 goals in 2 games. However Lewes were unable to hold onto the lead and then went behind as Eastbourne added 3 to go into half time leading 3-1.
The first goal in the second half was going to shape the rest of the game and Lewes came close to pulling one back but Eastbourne countered well and scored on the break to lead 4-1. Unfortunately Lewes couldn't cope with the opposition's speed and finishing and the final score ended 1-10.
It's not all doom and gloom as Lewes now go into the Men's 2s National Plate, the completion they were runners up in last season.
