The back to hockey/ mixed team player their second game of the season when they took on the farmers in their traditional friendly. Lewes had a squad of 15, 10 of which have come to the club thru the Back to hockey sessions.
Mens 1s top scorer Will Wycherley was a late call up as sole umpire and did a great job of umpiring in the right spirit.
So to the game a even match up played in the right spirits, half time score was 1-1 Callum Hart with the Lewes goal. Both keepers prevented other goals, Paula making a notable triple save from one of the Farmers PCs.
Half time Port and chocolates generously supplied by the Farmers before the second half continued in a similar vein. Lewes took the lead when Zac Fewster received a pass from the right and finished accurately. The Farmers equalised from a well taken PC and a draw looked on the cards when late in the game the Farmers defender (and Lewes Mens 2s) Max got dispossessed in the D by Benjy who finished into the far back board.
Good fun competitive game both teams playing some nice hockey and a great way to finish the first half of the season at the Southdown.
