The Lewes 5s added four new players to their team for today's match against Crowborough, and they worked hard, showcasing impressive skills throughout the game.
From the outset, the match was exciting, with a strong Lewes midfield consistently pushing forward. The 5s applied good pressure in Crowborough’s defensive area, and after a great run down the line by Bea, a well-aimed goal attempt was unfortunately thwarted by Crowborough’s defence.
The game was fast-paced, and Isobel demonstrated her reliable goalkeeping skills when play quickly switched ends, stopping a shot from Crowborough. In her debut match for the 5s, Coco displayed excellent teamwork by assisting Eleanor in scoring Lewes's first goal, taking the halftime score to 1-0.
In the second half, the team continued to excel with great teamwork, solid defending, and accurate passing, resulting in a fantastic second goal for Lewes, scored by Bella.
Although Crowborough increased their efforts to attack, Isobel and the defence remained strong, preventing any attempts from resulting in goals. Lewes kept up the pressure, and Bea showcased her skills again by scoring the team’s third goal. In the final minutes, Crowborough had a determined attempt on goal, but Isobel efficiently blocked it.
The final score was Lewes 3 - Crowborough 0.
